After being sent to the Oakland Athletics from the Los Angeles Dodgers last summer in a blockbuster trade, former East Carolina pitcher Jharel Cotton’s rollercoaster baseball career recently took off, as he now sits in the day five pitching rotation spot for the club.
Last August when the Dodgers were on a quest to fill their right fielder position and acquire more depth in the pitching rotation for the postseason, they pulled off a trade that sent Cotton, along with two other right handed pitchers, Frankie Montas and Grant Holmes, to Oakland for right fielder Josh Reddick and pitcher Rich Hill.
