East Carolina University’s women’s basketball team won its second straight close game of the season against the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, 58-55, Thursday evening inside Minges Coliseum.
“Well, they say if you lose and you learn then it's worth double the money,” head coach Heather Macy said. “Our team was able to learn and process and grow really rapidly in the month of November with the way that the schedule has worked out.”
The Pirates contained Charlotte’s trio of efficient scorers in junior guard Laia Raventós, senior guard Amaya Ransom and freshman guard Octavia Wilson, who came into the game shooting a combined 43.
