You would think a man like Koonce would be done dreaming and achieving, but Koonce said he is just getting started.
But it all started in New Bern, North Carolina for Koonce. As a young boy, his parents split and he was left with only his mother to support his family. Koonce began playing football at the age of 9-years-old, and didn’t stop until he was 32. He played at West Craven High School. When it was time to choose college, Koonce wanted to play at ECU because he had seen good teams while he was growing up.
