With the 2017 college football season approaching, East Carolina University may have made the biggest strategic move in the conference with the recent signing of former Duke University quarterback Thomas Sirk.
Sirk transferred to ECU as a fifth year graduate student. He will be finishing his college career with one of the coaches he started off with, ECU Head Coach Scottie Montgomery, who served as Duke’s associate head coach, offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2013-15.
“When we found out that he was going to be leaving Duke as a graduate transfer with the depth we had at quarterback, we knew we could use a guy like that,” ECU offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Tony Peterson said.
