Saturday marks the fifth time in the last five years that East Carolina University will face Virginia Tech, and is the third time in the past five years the Hokies come to town during family weekend.
In 2013, ECU faced off against the Hokies in the first match-up between the two, that would soon become a perennial game for years to come. VT took the first family weekend game, in a 15-10 thriller inside Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
In 2014, VT was ranked No. 14 nationally and was broadcasted live on the national stage. The game was hosted in Blacksburg, Virginia where former head coach Ruffin McNeill and his team took it to the Hokies.
