After struggling to run the football all season long, the East Carolina University football team not only won its last home game of the season, but did so in dominant fashion as a result of having a run game.
The Pirates (3-7, 1-6 AAC) entered their matchup with the Huskies (1-10, 0-7 AAC) averaging only 114.1 rushing yards per game. ECU averaged 3.3 rushing yards per attempt while only having 10 rushing touchdowns total through nine games. UConn gave up 331.2 rushing yards per game so the matchup Saturday gave the Pirates the chance to exploit that lack of running defense.
