ECU's helping hands

Just a few days after Veterans’ Day, East Carolina baseball players and coaches were at the U.S. Army Reserve building in Winterville on Saturday morning for one of the team’s offseason service projects.

The Pirates put together care packages for service men and women to send overseas.

On Wednesday, the Pirates are set to visit the James and Connie Maynard Children’s Hospital.

It was also recently announced that this year’s team captains will be senior outfielders Garrett Brooks and Parker Lamm along with junior catcher Travis Watkins.

“In my opinion, the greatest honor you can receive as an ECU baseball player is being voted a captain by your teammates,” ECU coach Cliff Godwin said.
