ECU (9-16, 3-10 AAC) dropped its sixth consecutive game, including its second overtime loss this week. The Pirates are now 0-3 in overtime games this season. Couple that with the Pirates being 1-6 in games decided by three points or less.
The game was the perfect reflection of ECU’s season. It looked great at certain points, but then look awful at others. The Pirates’ biggest problem this year has not been offense or defense, but consistency.
ECU came out in the first eight minutes and took it to Memphis (15-10, 9-5 AAC), going up 19-9. The Pirates looked to be on the road to a much-needed victory.
