The Pirates (9-12, 3-6 AAC) dominated in the beginning of the game, jumping out to a 13-2 run on the Owls (13-7, 7-2 AAC), with junior transfer post Marina Laramie dropping back-to-back three pointers during the scoring run. Temple began to get its offense clicking after a TV time out to close the gap between the two teams to finish the first quarter with a score of 19-16.
“I loved the way we came out to start the basketball game,” said ECU head coach Heather Macy. “We came out ready to play and the sustainability is needed throughout a 40 minute basketball game.
