The East Carolina University women’s basketball team had 42 points and a game winning shot from its bench on the way to a close 80-78 overtime win against the University of Houston inside Minges earlier today in the Annual Play4Kay game.
The Pirates, playing without their leading scorer in guard Ariyana Williams, needed extra production from other players and got it with a huge boost from the bench. The bench’s 42 points outscored the starters, who had 38 points.
ECU was led by guard Necole Hope and forward Selita Greene with 18 and 15 points respectively. Houston was led by guards Serithia Hawkins and Jasmyne Harris who finished with 22 and 21 respectively.
