What’s more impressive than her statistics, however, is the fact that Mares is just a sophomore.
“I think this season has been pretty good. We struggled a little bit recently but we found a way to fight out of that rut,” Mares said. “I think that the rest of this season will be really good for us.”
Mares was born in Littleton, Colorado, where she attended Rocky Mountain High School. In high school, she was a four-year letter winner, two-time First Team All-Conference selection and a Two-Team Academic All-Conference honoree.
