The roster is built of 22 freshman, 10 men and 12 women. This recruiting class is a good size and benefits the program by getting competitive individuals to build up the track team.
“You never know how well they are going to react and transition to D1 athletics,” said ECU head coach Curt Kraft.
Four of the freshmen men will be competing in the distance races while five of the freshman women will be competing in sprints.
Kraft believes that the women’s team has some promising athletic freshman runners, such as Naomi Whitaker, Bria Smith, Alyssa Sandy and D’Nia Freeman.
