East Carolina’s baseball team lost the third game of its weekend series against the University of South Florida, 6-3 Sunday afternoon in Tampa, after the Bulls came out swinging, scoring five runs in the first inning.
The loss in Sunday’s game three completed the series sweep for South Florida (37-10, 12-6 American Athletic Conference). East Carolina’s (24-24, 4-14 AAC) lack of offense played a big part in the loss, as the Pirates accumulated only four hits all game. On the other hand, the Bulls’ bats were more active, racking up 13 hits, six of which came in their five-run first inning.
