East Carolina University won its second-straight American Athletic Conference series by defeating the University of South Florida 3-2, with a walk-off yesterday at the ECU Softball Stadium.
After having split the last two games, yesterday’s game was the rubber match between the two teams. It was a walk-off single by freshman outfielder Tyler King that won the game for the Pirates, their second-straight AAC series win, after sweeping the University of Connecticut last weekend, and USF’s first AAC series loss of the season.
Other than ECU (21-26, 7-8 AAC) leaving the bases loaded in the first inning, it was quiet for both teams, both going scoreless through the first three innings.
