The East Carolina University softball team ended the Spring Fling Tournament at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii by splitting its games against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Brigham Young University.
The Pirates won their third game in a row in the first game of the day, a 13-2 blowout over Arkansas-Pine Bluff that ended in five innings. The Pirates were in trouble early, facing a bases loaded jam in the third inning before freshman pitcher Erin Poepping stepped up to strike out three straight batters to end the inning. ECU capitalized on three errors to score four runs in the fourth.
