The East Carolina University softball team pushed its winning streak to five games with a 4-1 win over Duke University yesterday at the ECU Softball Stadium.
Redshirt sophomore Tate McClellan started the scoring for the Pirates with a two-run home run in the first inning, scoring freshman outfielder Tyler King as well. ECU added more runs in the fourth when redshirt senior Alex Mycek hit a solo home run, and King drew a bases loaded walk, scoring senior infielder Karlie Smith to make the game 4-0.
Duke got one run across in the fifth inning before both teams went scoreless the rest of the way.
