On Friday, the Pirates achieved a shutout victory with the help of the returning top two scorers, senior Kendall Frey and junior Lana Spitler. Frey scored the first goal of the game roughly 22 minutes into the first half, and Spitler during the 80th minute.
“I think our forwards were a big difference in the game,” said head coach Rob Donnenwirth. “I thought they played very well. Kendall and Lana were both into the game”
Frey had a total of five shots during the game against George Mason and Spitler notched two.
This shutout wouldn’t have been possible without returning senior goalie Saundra Baron, Donnenwirth noted.
