“Really good team win, Senior Night, obviously high emotions,” said ECU head coach Heather Macy. “Our seniors performed as you would expect they would.”
The four seniors for ECU (11-17, 2-13 American Athletic Conference) were the team’s high scorers. Forwards Bre McDonald and Kristen Gaffney both had double-doubles, as McDonald poured in 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Gaffney scored 20 points and snatched 11 boards. Guard Khadidja Toure had 14 points and four assists while guard Antoinette Bannister chipped in with nine points.
“It’s just really special when you see the four seniors come together for a greater good,” Gaffney said.
