The East Carolina University volleyball team traveled to DeLand, Florida to compete in the Stetson Invitational this weekend just a week after the Pirates went 2-1 last weekend in the ECU Invitational. The team was focused on coming out of the weekend with a perfect 3-0 and a tournament trophy, however fell just short.
Head coach Julie Torbett had felt her team was capable of winning the ECU Invitational a week ago, but her team’s loss to Rutgers hindered their chance at taking the crown. Coming off that loss, Torbett had three simple, yet attainable goals.
“A tournament trophy, a tournament MVP, and we want to win all of our preseason matches, Torbett said before the tournament.
