The offense of East Carolina University has been the reliable side of the ball in the tenure of head coach Scottie Montgomery, but once again the offense struggled in the Pirates 42-20 loss to American Athletic Conference opponent the University of Houston Saturday night.
It struggled so bad for the second week in a row that most fans had filtered out of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium by the beginning of the fourth quarter.
It signified a low point of sorts, as the attendance was already at 29,837, the lowest it had been since the 2005 season when ECU went 5-6 in Skip Holtz first season as head coach.
