"Our guys are very experienced," said head coach Press McPhaul. "They've been playing college golf for a good long while. They know what to expect."
The Pirates were led by sophomore golfer Tim Conover, who putted the third most birdies amongst the 90-player field at 13. Conover finished Monday with 4-over 144, tied for 21st. He then carded 1-over 211 in the final round to advance 10 stops to claim 11th on Tuesday.
"I think the team as a whole, the older guys, do a good job of encouraging each other. They see a lot of ability in Tim, and I think they really respect his skill set," said McPhaul.
