ECU (10-16, 4-11 AAC) fought back early in the second half, getting within 13 points but had its comeback thwarted after key player and junior forward Kentrell Barkley was ejected from the game eight minutes into the second half. Barkley, who saw action for the first time after serving a two-game suspension, was given two technical fouls resulting in an automatic ejection, finishing with only two points, three rebounds, and two blocks in 19 minutes.
