UCF outscored the Pirates, 60-32 in the first half behind 67 percent shooting, 22-of-33, including 50 percent, 8-of-16 from behind the arc. ECU was not as successful from the field in the first half as it shot 39 percent, 12-of-31, including 25 percent from three, 4-of-16.
Sophomore A.J. Davis tied for the Knights leading scorer with 13 points and said the team’s strong shooting performance early on was the difference in the game.
“Last game against ECU we missed a couple of shots early and this game we hit them and I think that was the difference, we just got a better start,” Davis said.
