While the Pirates kept it close for a majority of the game, the Golden Bears ultimately pulled away at the end, earning a 70-62 victory.
The Pirates struggled shooting the ball to start the game, as they trailed 8-1 before making their first shot from the field. At the 13:48 mark of the first half, senior forward Michael Zangari made a three pointer from the top of the key to start the team on a 10-0 run to take an 11-8 lead.
Before Zangari’s three pointer, the Pirates’ only points came on sophomore guard B.J. Tyson who made a free throw.
