The 77-73 final brought the Pirates down to earth and continued their losing ways on the road, which is a struggle that has dated back to last season.
“In the first half, we did a great job against the zone. I was really worried about their zone. Besides practice, we haven’t really had to use our zone offense. Our guys did a great job of getting the ball in the soft spots of the zone. They were really unselfish with their teammates tonight,” College of Charleston head coach Earl Grant said.
The Pirates (5-4) struggled from the start of the game, falling behind 9-1 in the first four minutes of the first half.
