The Knights went on a 12-1 run over 2:15 to take a 63-59 lead with 2:08 left in the game. UCF held the lead for the final two minutes of the game.
UCF made two 3-pointers during the run, which Caleb White attributed to lapses on the defensive end that turned the momentum of the game.
“We broke down on defense for those two possession and then momentum is a killer when you give it away,” White said.
After two made free throws for the Knights with six seconds left to play, Prince Williams ran the full length of the court and put up a 3-pointer which came up just short, bouncing off the front of the rim as the buzzer sounded.
