The East Carolina University football team gave up 49 points in the first half against West Virginia University Saturday to set a new mark for most points given up in the first half in program history, as well as the removal of defensive coordinator Kenwick Thompson.
With less than a minute remaining in the half and the game already decided, WVU’s head coach Dana Holgorsen dialed up a pass play and caught ECU's defensive backs sound asleep. Before Korrin Wiggins recognized what was happening, David Sills V was long behind him and on his way to an easy 75-yard touchdown to extend the score to 49-3.
