Following East Carolina University’s inaugural lacrosse game, an 18-7 loss to George Washington University, the Pirates look to bounce back in their first road trip, travelling to Rock Hill, South Carolina to face Winthrop University tomorrow.
ECU (0-1) is coming off of a tough 11-goal loss to the Colonials. With such a young ECU team, featuring 23 freshmen, turning the ball over is to be expected. The Pirates doubled the Colonials in turnovers, 16 to 8, last Sunday.
The turnover margin tells a large part of the story, and ECU head coach Amanda Barnes says taking care of the ball and clearing it out of the defensive end is something the Pirates discuss.
