The East Carolina University women’s lacrosse team battled Saint Francis University on Saturday in Loretto, Pennsylvania, losing 12-7 and failing to pick up its second win of the season.
SFU (4-3) controlled the game and stayed ahead of ECU (1-8) the entire game. Yellow cards cost the Pirates while the Red Flash scored goals during four of the five occasions ECU went one woman down. SFU scored the first two goals of the game then the first two goals of the second half, extending the lead to six goals (9-3).
Freshman attackman Ally Stanton and midfielder Liz Blumthal answered by scoring two goals, cutting the lead to four.
