The East Carolina University lacrosse team (1-6) traveled to Easton, Pennsylvania, to take on Lafayette University (2-3), eventually losing 11-9 in a close battle this on Saturday.
The Pirates started off the first half giving up the first four goals to the Leopards, but managed to get on board before the half, ending it 2-6. ECU outscored Lafayette in the second half with seven goals while the Leopards scored only five but it wasn’t enough to pull ahead.
Freshman attackman Lily Avazis set a personal record of five goals in one game in six shot attempts, scoring the final goal of the game with 16 seconds left.
