East Carolina University football head coach Scottie Montgomery was very encouraged after the Pirates held their first spring scrimmage on Saturday at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
“We are way ahead of where we have been, we are much better,” Montgomery said. “We still have a long way to go on offense, defense and special teams, but they are excited right now because they are seeing their hard work finally hit the field and be a better football team.”
ECU focused on situational football of all kinds during the 75-play scrimmage, getting a good look at just about every situation the Pirates could face this season.
