Fans who waited four hours and four minutes because of a rain delay packed Clark-LeClair Stadium for the second night in a row. The fans waited all day long to see their hometown team East Carolina University take on the University of South Carolina, and hopefully relive the magic of the walk-off win over USC in the 2009 regional and pull within one game of the super regional.
Except there would be no magical finish for the Pirate faithful last night. USC would score three runs in the first inning and ECU would spend the rest of the game trying to catch up, eventually falling short in a 3-2 loss on a bizarre Saturday for the Greenville regional.
