The East Carolina University Baseball team extended its win streak to nine games with a sweep over the University of South Florida this weekend in Tampa, Florida, pushing itself to the No. 13 spot in the country.
On Sunday the Pirates (21-6; 6-0 AAC) were able to get the win over USF (12-14; 1-5 AAC) thanks in large part to junior outfielder Bryant Packard’s grand slam in the top of the second inning. Freshman infielder Thomas Francisco led off the second inning for the Pirates. Francisco was able to reach first thanks to a throwing error committed by the Bulls.
