The East Carolina University (3-7, 0-0 AAC) men’s basketball team has struggled to produce wins to start the season. With a 79-67 home victory against Campbell University (6-3, 0-0 Big South) on Saturday, the Pirates are looking to turn their season around.
The Camels entered the matchup off to their best start since the 2011-2012 season, while the Pirates sported a four-game losing streak prior to defeating Campbell.
“I thought we got off to a much better start,” head coach Joe Dooley said according to ECUPirates.com. “I thought that our defensive recognition and attention to detail was better, which I thought got us off to a good start with the exception really of a number of turnovers that we hadn't done this year.
