“It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and come together in a sport we all love to play and have fun for an entire weekend,” said club member Brian Elgart.
Ultimate frisbee, often known simply as ultimate, came to the United States in the late 1960s and has remained a sport to this day. Ultimate has been recognized by the Olympics and is in the world games, while having a governing body called the World Flying Disc Federation.
Elgart says one of the reasons he loves playing the game is because of the sportsmanship.
“The way the rules are setup, it’s called ‘The Spirit of the Game’ which is a rule that states there are no referees, but you call your own fouls and you’re supposed to be respectful to all of the players on the field at all times,” said Elgart.
