After opening the season with two home victories over Grambling State, 61-53, and Charlotte, 88-74, the Pirates will hit the road for the first time this season.
Charlotte went with a small lineup against the Pirates, which forced them to follow up with a smaller lineup of players who were expected to have less playing time.
Head coach Jeff Lebo was very impressed with Clarence Williams’ performance against the 49ers, playing 27 minutes and recording nine points as well as 11 rebounds.
Lebo expects a much different type of game against Cal (2-0), who will likely play a bigger lineup and force ECU to play some of their bigger players more often
“The next game, it may be more of a Mike Zangari and Kanu Aja type of game, with more physical, post guys,” Lebo said.
