ECU basketball falls to San Diego State

The game was full of streaks, both hot and cold, for both teams, but the difference in the game was that the Aztecs’ hot streaks lasted longer and their cold streaks were short-lived.

ECU trailed, 44-21, at the end of the first half after the Aztecs started the game on a 16-0 run and never let the Pirates get within single digits the rest of the game. SDSU is 50-1 when taking a lead into halftime at home in its last 51 games, making a 23-point deficit very hard to recover from for ECU.

The Pirates struggled from the field in the first half, shooting just 24 percent, 7 of 29.
