East Carolina University outfielder Bryant Packard’s July 4th plans changed quickly after getting a call on Monday that he would be joining the USA Collegiate National Team (CNT) immediately, leaving the summer league and reuniting with two fellow Pirates.
Packard will join ECU teammate Jake Agnos, who was added to the USA CNT roster a week ago, and ECU head coach Cliff Godwin, who has been serving as the third base and hitting coach for the CNT this summer.
Packard will leave behind his summer league team, the Wareham Gateman of the Cape Cod Summer League, for now.
