East Carolina University’s baseball team completed the series sweep of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte by winning both games in the double header on Saturday.
The Pirates got on the board first in the second game of the double header by scoring three-runs in the second inning. Redshirt sophomore catcher Jake Washer led off the inning with a solo homer, the first of his career, to right center field. Junior center fielder Brady Lloyd followed with an infield single then senior right fielder Drew Henrickson and sophomore second baseman Nick Barber reached on consecutive bunt singles before sophomore left fielder Dusty Baker's sacrifice bunt brought Henrickson home.
