East Carolina (12-6) began the game very rocky as Evan Kruczynski started off by allowing the first four batters a single, which led to one run on the board with the bases loaded and no outs. The junior then showed why he is the ace as the next hitter grounded back to him, which generated the 1-2-3 double play.
“(Kruczynski) didn’t have his best stuff, I mean when you watched him guys were getting better swings off of him than they normally do,” said head coach Cliff Godwin. “He battled; seven innings, only gave up 2 runs, what an effort by him.
