The No. 14 ranked East Carolina University baseball team managed to beat the University of Maryland comfortably on Friday 9-0, during its first game of a weekend series that is being played in College Park, Maryland.
The Pirates (13-6) were coming off a weekday 7-2 loss against No. 24 ranked Duke University on the road, in Durham, North Carolina on Tuesday, after winning four straight games, and coming off their second weekend series sweep of the season. The three games against Maryland, will be the first weekend series played on the road this year.
For the Terrapins (10-6), they were coming off two straight road wins against Stetson University and the University of Delaware.
