The Pirates (9-12, 3-6 AAC) were coming off a good effort against Tulane a week ago, where the Pirates just couldn’t convert down the stretch to win. The Pirates turned it around Saturday, starting out hot, going up 13-2 in the first quarter.
“I loved the way we came out to play, I thought we came out ready to play,” said head coach Heather Macy. “Just the sustainability throughout a 40 minute basketball game (is hard).”
But from there, ECU started to struggle on offense, putting up just 6 points in the last 6 minutes of the opening quarter.
