Kemp performed exponentially better than anyone, save for maybe himself, expected. Despite a pick-six and game-ending fumble, the junior’s overall performance can only be viewed as successful after he dug into Florida’s highly touted secondary for 333 yards and three touchdowns.
It’s time to believe in Kemp, at least for now. The junior was very effective against one of the best defenses in the nation, has the most experience running the offense of all the quarterback options, and by mixing back-up James Summers into the action the Pirates risk unnecessary controversy.
In their opening drive, with 88,000 Florida fans stomping and Gator-chomping, the Pirates offense cruised down the field for a touchdown.
