East Carolina's football team in action Saturday

The day began with the team conducting the first scrimmage since the spring, and head coach Scottie Montgomery was happy with how far the team has come. He stated that the team will continue to work to get better, but feels they are in good shape physically. The scrimmage consisted of around 100 plays and allowed every quarterback on the roster playing time.

All together the three quarterbacks, Philip Nelson, Gardner Minshew, and Reid Herring combined to throw for 576 yards and six touchdowns. They also completed 34 of 50 passes and only had one interception, which was picked off by defensive back Bobby Fulp for a 26-yard touchdown return.
