East Carolina University volleyball team is looking to continue its non-conference success from last season with the start of its 2017 season Friday when the Pirates will host the ECU Invitational.
The team will open up against the College of William and Mary Friday before facing Georgia State University and Rutgers on Saturday. This beginning tournament is the first of 18 matches being held in Greenville this season.
The Pirates are coming off a 2016 season in which they went 10-0 during their non-conference schedule. The East Carolina Invitational will be a good chance for the Pirates to start their season on a high note just as they did the season before.
