East Carolina football's unpredictability continues

The Pirates’ (4-4, 2-2 AAC) defense slugged it out with one of the nation’s best defensive units. Some could argue that ECU outperformed the opposing defense, as Temple allowed 58 more yards than the Pirates.

ECU forced three three-and-outs in 12 total drives, while limiting a superb runner in Jahad Thomas to 3.3 yards a carry and 66 total rushing yards.

However, the Pirate pass rush notched 16 sacks in the three games leading up to Thursday’s matchup, but didn’t manage to sack Temple quarterback P.J. Walker once.

The ECU defense has been inconsistent all season.
