East Carolina football looks on to SMU

The Pirates (2-2, 0-1 American Athletic Conference) faced similar skill sets in previous matchups versus Florida and Virginia Tech, games they performed well in. The offense has averaged 371.5 yards and 29.5 points in games versus that particular defensive formation.

ECU has yet to face a team that relies as heavily on their quarterback than SMU (1-3, 0-0 AAC) does in Matt Davis.

Through the Mustangs’ four games, Davis has combined for 1,330 total yards and 12 touchdowns. He leads SMU with more than 200 rushing yards, averaging 99 yards a game. He has also passed for 933 yards with just two interceptions on the season.
