To cap off a relentless week of practice the East Carolina Pirates conducted its first scrimmage of the 2017-18 season, despite the overcast and threatening thunderstorms.
The defensive team's stole the spotlight during Saturday's scrimmage being active and forcing six turnovers. Transfer Korrin Wiggins said the main goal, for not only him but his teammates, is to come out and develop their skills and work on the fundamentals of the sport. Head coach Scottie Montgomery praised his defense’s energy throughout the day.
“I thought Korrin did a good job on the backend, upfront I could name all those guys for the plays they make,” Montgomery said.
