Freshman Patrick Stephenson placed one stroke behind his teammate, tied for 19th at 2-over-par 146 while junior Jackson Spires finished 3-over-par 147 and tied for 28th. As a whole, the Pirates shot a two-round total of 587 before the final round was cancelled Sunday due to inclement weather.
“The feel about (the weather) was a little bit of a disappointment,” head coach Press McPhaul said. “I think the guys were excited about the challenge even though the weather was not very comfortable. I think they were excited about competing.”
Wake Forest (561) won the tournament at 15-under, while Jacksonville (571) finished second, 10 strokes behind Wake Forest and LSU (573) finished third.
