Junior quarterback Blake Kemp turned the ball over twice, the defense failed to keep the Midshipmen out of the end zone until the second half, and a critical fourth-and-1 play went terribly awry. Perhaps most disturbing, however, was the complete absence of Chris Hairston and the ECU ground attack.
“It is what it is,” said Kemp. “We have to do whatever it takes to score the ball. If we have to pass to score, that’s what we have to do. If we have to run the ball that’s what we’ll do.”
While it is true that points are points no matter how you get them, Kemp’s job would be a whole lot easier if his running backs carried a heavier load.
